The *Sales Manager* is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining relationships with customers to help enhance the customers experience for the company.
Provides comprehensive sales and product support to external customers and is responsible for growing market share.
Manages sales team and is responsible for developing, mentoring, and supporting team members.
*Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:* * Oversees equipment sales, rentals, and service; assists sales team in negotiating sales and service agreements, prospecting, and qualifying potential new business with existing and new accounts.
* Manages development of sales and customer service relationships to ensure effective engagement of all parties at the corporate, regional, local and project level.
* Manages inventory needs for sales projections, equipment demonstrations and training.
Coordinates internal logistics to ensure customer orders are completed and delivered on time.
* Responsible for developing forecast for equipment sales and rentals for assigned region as directed.
* Creates and tracks sales, rentals, market share and gross profit goal per territory conducts quarterly review with Sales Representatives and Branch Managers.
* Effectively communicates information concerning sales, customer needs, product performance, pricing, training, or other topics of interest to other Sales Managers, Branch Managers, and Regional Managers.
* Creates an annual review and development plan for each Sales Representative; performs no less than 2 beginning-of-day to end-of-day ride-along per quarter, per rep and reports on daily activity.
* Provides schedule oversight, territory management, and inventory reporting accountability for direct reports.
* Coordinates and provides product demonstrations and training to customers as needed.
* Responsible for conducting annual sales meeting and/or monthly sales training; performs a quarterly training event for designated region to include product training, strategy updates, and market share analysis * Establishes a branch specific list of customers to be strategically called on by Sales Managers, Branch Managers, Regional Managers, and Senior Leadership Team.
* Represents Company at factory, industry, and company events, including meetings and training.
* Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
* Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
* Manages and maintains an expected travel schedule of 50-60% for this position.
*Job Qualifications:* * High School Diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification * A bachelors degree and/or equivalent dealership experience at the management level preferred * Sales experience in the Construction Equipment Industry or similar industry preferred.
* Ability to read and understand P & Ls.
* Equipment knowledge or previous industry experience a plus * Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, excellent people skills and attention to details * Ability to use good judgement, think quickly and solve problems * Strong computer skills required including Microsoft applications * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude * Personal appearance must be neat and clean.
* Communication and behavior must be always professional and respectful * Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
