Summary The Business Development Officer is responsible for development, cultivation, and growth of business lending for LiftFund in the designated target market and region.
They are focused on community outreach to increase visibility of LiftFund as well as originate and process quality loan applications.
The ideal candidate will be driven by the social mission of LiftFund to provide credit and service to small businesses that lack access to loans from commercial sources.
The position will represent LiftFund by collaborating with banks, borrowers, and the business community at large.
The Business Development Officer works with internal staff and external clients to successfully generate quality business loans in their respective markets.
The position is responsible for business development, loan origination and packaging loans from start to finish.
The Business Development Officer constantly examines and develops methods of increasing LiftFund’ s market presence, production, and processing.
As a front-line employee, he or she will recommend and develop ways to provide products and services to our clients and ensure their satisfaction.
Additionally, the Business Development Officer may be assigned to lending projects, process improvement activities and other lead generation activities as needed.
The Business Development Officer will report to the Vice President of their regional area.
Duties and Responsibilities Package, process, and close business loans to LiftFund’ s target market.
Create new and manage existing partnerships to produce loan applications, meet and exceed loan production goals.
Successfully establish and maintain business relationships with bank partners, community leaders and current / potential borrowers Generate business lending leads consistently and manage all leads in LiftFund’ s client management system.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of LiftFund loan products, funding sources, and programs, and provide lending information to potential customers as needed.
Effectively performs outreach and promote LiftFund products and services, including representation in community.
Communicates professionally with clients and internal departments.
Serve as key relationship manager of loan applicants, including technical assistance support.
Maintain contact with current borrowers.
Support, participate in packaging the required loan documentation with clients as needed.
Ability to effectively present completed loan packages to underwriting for review and consideration.
Contribute to the management of portfolio quality (delinquency and write-offs) Conduct site, collection, and follow-up visits to current lending clients- conduct collateral inspections for loan applicants.
Participate in loan closings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
To qualify for this position, you must have Minimum 3 years of direct, consumer or business lending experience, and business development sales experience with proven sales success.
Experience in government or federal lending programs, SBA programs preferred.
Knowledge of commercial real estate lending, fixed asset financing, working capital loans and accounts receivable financing.
Ability to manage and supervise loan payment past due activities.
Understanding of financial literacy and credit analysis.
Strong self-starter, creative thinker, and problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, polished presentation skills and experience presenting to groups of people.
Minimum 2 years in Client Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Additional qualifications preferred are Bilingual (English/Spanish) Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field.

Position Type, Days and Hours This is a full-time, exempt position.
The days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm.

This job requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and address unexpected work challenges.
The job also requires the ability to operate office equipment (such as computers) as may be necessary to perform the position’s responsibilities.
