00 Open Date 04/17/2024 Close Date 05/08/2024 Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The CTE Outreach Specialist position will implement a system of outreach and recruitment services and activities at middle schools, promoting CTE awareness and access to CTE high school programs, to include P-TECH (Pathways to Technology Early College High School), prior to students choosing their endorsements upon completion of the 8th grade.
This position will initiate and strengthen relationships between middle school parents and students and higher education, empowering these population groups by exposing them to strategies toward academic success and the value of education.
Other duties include transitioning the student experience to Dual Credit Coordinators when the students reach the 9th grade, inform on enrollment processes both on the college campus and at the high school campuses, assist with advising students with CTE specific course enrollments, work with DMC departments to deliver CTE program information to students and parents, maintain accurate record keeping of CTE student files and degree plans, work under the Director of Admissions and alongside Outreach and Recruitment Specialists on department projects/events both during the day and night times.
This position will also be required to report and maintain accurate records of student, parent and high school personnel visits/appointments as outlined in the Perkins grant, to the Dean, Student Outreach & Enrollment Services, or designee.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
Three (3) years experience in higher education.
Valid Texas Driver License with ability to be insurable by Del Mar College.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Work requires advanced skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, and familiarity with higher education programs and/or processes.
Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively.
Makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers.
Special working hours may include evenings (frequent), holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, presentation and written communication skills, and ability to develop and implement action plans.
Ability to perform and excel in a high-tech, all-digital environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications Recruitment or marketing experience.
Experience conducting electronic marketing campaigns and web-based marketing & advertising initiatives.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Student Information Systems, and Customer Relationship Management Systems.
Proficiency using e-tools in the delivery of recruitment services.

Job Duties Job Duty Develops and implements effective recruitment strategies to optimize enrollment by attracting new students.
Assists prospective students with the admission and/or readmission process.
Provide information and assistance to prospective students regarding the admissions process, including general program advising, admission, orientation, testing, financial aid, transfer of transcripts, special populations assistance, etc.
in a professional manner.
Establish and maintain open communication channels between students and the Admissions Office.
Maintain proper demeanor when counseling students and accurately identify any barriers in achieving goals and discuss and suggest effective alternatives.
Assist the Director of Admissions with the development of brochures/handouts for print and web publications, and compile information for future use by student and the general public; and promptly, accurately, and professionally respond to or ensure response is given to student questions.
Job Duty Represents and provides essential information about the College by attending college fairs, job fairs, community events, outreach activities and other special events (such as campus preview days and tours).
Coordinate with internal college faculty and/or staff and external personnel todevelop and deliver outreach programs and services; and assist in the development of outreach materials.
Job Duty Identify, interact & develop partnerships with public and private organizations such as Independent School Districts and charter schools, PTAs, business and community organizations.
Solicit participation by networking with private industry, local agencies and organizations, and other groups within the community to promote College programs.
Works with Director to develop and implement recruitment communication calendar.
Job Duty Coordinate with Student Services departmental program area experts to address the concerns raised by prospective students, current students, internal staff, and external constituents; and maintain constant communications with prospective students, external constituents, and internal staff/faculty.
Assists with managing and maintaining website and social medial platforms, acts as liaison with Information Technology, Webmaster.
Job Duty Maintain and update outreach files, prepare and submit outreach reports as appropriate.
Maintains the integrity of the recruitment software and student database to ensure complete accuracy for local records.
Completes all required training and professional developmental sessions sponsored by the College.
Job Duty Serve on high school, College, and community committees as assigned.
