Job Description Position Title: Principal Position Salary: Salary $77,824 / Exempt Position Hours: Full-time, extended workdays, and occasional weekends.
Reports to: Regional Associate Superintendent Length of Term/Employment: 225 days / At-will Position Mission: Serve as Instructional Leader for Jubilee Academies Open Enrollment Charter Campus.
Qualifications: Education: must hold a master's degree from a university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (outside source) U.
S.
Department of Education Database for Accredited Colleges and Universities (outside source) Certifications: Valid Texas Mid-Mangement / Principal Certification.
Current certification in instructional Leadership Development (ILD) T-TESS Appraiser Skills: Knowledge of goal setting, curriculum, school organization, staffing and budget.
Ability to demonstrate written and oral communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate organizational skills.
Knowledge of school policies, TEA regulations, and school law.
Ability to demonstrate human relation skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Ability to allocate financial and instructional resources efficiently and effectively.
Ability to problem-solve.
Knowledge of technology, telecommunications, and information systems to enhance learning.
Experience in planning and presenting staff development.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years school administration experience in elementary and middle school Have three years of creditable teaching experience as a classroom teacher Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provides instructional leadership, resources, and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals and ensures that program activities are related to program outcomes.
Determines and builds a common vision with staff for school improvement; directs planning activities and implements programs collaboratively with staff to ensure attainment of mission.
Defines expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management and communication with the public.
Observes employee performance, records observations, and conducts evaluation conferences with all staff.
Makes recommendations relative to personnel, placement, transfer, retention, promotion, and dismissal.
Complies with District policies as well as state and federal laws and regulations affecting the schools.
Develops and administers the budget based upon documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs; implements programs within budget limits, maintains fiscal control; accurately reports fiscal information.
Uses information and insights provided through assessment instruments, the District appraisal process, and evaluates feedback from campus administrators to improve staff performance.
Provides leadership in addressing challenges facing the profession; pursues professional development activities, disseminates ideas and information to other professionals.
Observes professional ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Educators code of Ethics.
Charter and Community Responsibilities: Convey the charter’s mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission.
Illustrate understanding of charter and community needs and begin activities to meet those needs.
Demonstrate use of productive and efficient skills to raise community and parent involvement.
Student Management: Provide for supervision of students during non-instructional hours.
Help students develop a positive behavior through a student discipline management system.
Provide for uniform enforcement of school rules and oversee appropriate and reasonable student discipline.
Hold parent/teacher/student conferences in regard to student and school issues.
Other: Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Regional Associate Superintendent.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including assistant principal(s), teacher(s), counselor(s), librarian, instructional aides, clerical support staff and auxiliary personnel.
Charter & Community Responsibilities: Convey the charter’s mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission.
Illustrate understanding of Charter and community needs and begin activities to meet those needs.
Demonstrate use of productive and efficient skills to raise community and parent involvement.
Actively participate in student recruitment efforts.
Charter Atmosphere: Encourage a constructive, thoughtful climate for learning.
Promote fairness of students and staff from all cultural backgrounds.
Communicate with students and staff in an effective manner that promotes and sustains the Jubilee culture.
