Job Description
Direct and develop the School of Music's new degree in Sound Recording Technology.
Teach undergraduate courses in Sound Recording Technology.
Teaching areas will include, but are not limited to, courses in music technology including Introduction to DAW, Audio Recording, Live Sound Reinforcement, Mixing Techniques and Practicum courses.
Recruit and retain students in the degree program.
Additional teaching duties based on the candidate's expertise and needs of the School of Music.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Music, Doctorate preferred, from a regionally accredited institution or university required.
Expertise in teaching courses in Sound Recording Technology and related areas at the university level.
Demonstrated success as a recording engineer.
RANK:
Assistant Professor with terminal degree in Music - Tenure track; Assistant Professor of Practice with Master's degree in Music - Non-Tenure Track.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville is a multi-cultural, predominantly Hispanic serving, state-assisted institution with an enrollment of about 7,000 students.
The School of Music (SOM), an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music, currently enrolls about 290 undergraduate and 20 graduate music majors, with 25 full-time and 18 part-time faculty members.
The SOM is housed in a new, 100,000 sq ft music facility featuring superior acoustics and technology.
The SOM offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification, Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies, Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Emphasis in Piano Pedagogy, Bachelor of Music in Sound Recording Technology, Master of Music in Music Education, Master of Music in Performance, and Master of Music in Conducting.
