Dotterweich College of Engineering invites applications for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills as well as a distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments.
Candidates must have a track-record of significant accomplishments in research and teaching at a level sufficient to qualify for appointment to the rank of full professor with tenure.
Preference may be given to applicants who already hold the rank of full professor at their current institution.
We are seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic leader who presents a clear organizational vision to lead a vibrant department with multiple graduate and undergraduate programs, consistent with the mission and vision of the Frank H.
Dotterweich College of Engineering.
The department chair is charged with advancing the Department's research, teaching, and service mission; and must be committed to student success.
The responsibilities of the Chair include faculty recruitment and development, student recruitment and retention, administering research programs, curriculum development, accreditation, strategic planning, maintaining a high-quality learning environment, and fostering relationships with government agencies, industry and the professional community.
Required qualifications: An earned doctorate in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related discipline.
Applicants must have a minimum of ten years of demonstrated excellence in teaching and creative/research activities, as well as, a minimum of two years demonstrated administrative experience relevant to the position.
