We are searching for an engaging, passionate, UB Science Instructor Part-Time Temporary to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

*Essential Functions:*
The program’s instructor works closely with the Upward Bound & Upward Bound Rural (UB/UBR) Project Directors to ensure success in meeting the program’s purpose and objectives by providing instruction and guidance to all students who enroll in such classes.
*Duties and Responsibilities: *
* Teach high school biology, chemistry, and/or physics.
* Create daily/weekly lesson plans for instruction.
* Monitor and keep a daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development.
* Assess teaching and learning outcomes and provide essential feedback to Program Directors.
* Develop of curriculum and provide a written evaluation of each participant enrolled in the class.
* Guide students in the areas of social and personal growth.
* Be on time for classes and notify the Program Directors as early as possible of an unscheduled absence.
* Provide lesson assignments and any other necessary materials or equipment for a substitute teacher.
* Report students' behavior problems as they arise.
*Travel Requirements: *
None.
*Environment:*
Conduct job functions on the Coastal Bend College campus.
There will be daily interaction with students in a fast-paced environment.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related field preferred.
Previous teaching experience in high school or at a college level in appropriate disciple.
Ability to implement web-based or general technology applications into instruction.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate sensitivity towards the target area population and teaching experience.

Education Degree _Equals_ Bachelor's
Details _Equals_ Training in tutoring strategies and techniques for secondary populations is preferred.
Previous experience teaching/tutoring/participating in a TRIO program.
