60 / Hourly Open Date 11/29/2023 Close Date 01/04/2024 Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary This position supports student success and productivity by assisting library patrons with library services, including lending materials, interlibrary loans, student ID cards, and reserve items and maintaining the library’s physical collection.
Assisting students with the use of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in the library.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.
Three (3) years related experience.
OR Associate’s degree.
One (1) year related experience.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to travel to other campuses as needed Ability to work nights and weekends when required Ability to work a flexible schedule when required Excellent customer service skills Excellent communications skills Ability to troubleshoot computer software and hardware Knowledge of Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Recent library experience, academic library preferred Knowledge of integrated library systems Knowledge of interlibrary loan processes and systems Special Instructions to Applicants This is a security-sensitive position.

Job Duties Job Duty Cultivates a positive, empowering, professional, and inclusive work environment Job Duty Hires, trains, and assists with supervising student assistants and part-time employees for Library Public Services Job Duty Checks materials in and out of the library Job Duty Answers patron questions and directs patrons to appropriate services Job Duty Issues student ID cards Job Duty Maintains accurate patron and circulation records in the library integrated library system Job Duty Processes and maintains the library reserve collection Job Duty Enters transcript holds for students with outstanding library fees Job Duty Coordinates library room scheduling Job Duty Creates displays of library materials on a periodic basis Job Duty Maintains and checks out library audiovisual equipment Job Duty Maintains and reports accurate library statistics Job Duty Participates in inventories of library materials Job Duty Orders and maintains supplies for Library Public Service desks Job Duty Provides excellent customer service Job Duty Maintains library’s physical collections Job Duty Provides interlibrary loan services and maintains accurate interlibrary loan records Job Duty Accepts and processes monetary payments Job Duty Assists with developing schedules for the library service desk Job Duty Provides coverage for the library Reference Desk when needed, answering basic reference and directional questions and referring more complicated questions to a librarian Job Duty Serves as library building supervisor during nights and weekends, ensuring an appropriate study environment and building security Job Duty Participates in departmental and college training and professional development.
Job Duty Participates in library programming events.
Job Duty Assists library patrons in the use of computer hardware and software Job Duty Answers technical questions related to computer hardware and software Job Duty Maintains Student Technology Center equipment, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment when necessary Job Duty Coordinates with IT staff to ensure that STC equipment remains functional and accessible Job Duty Assists library patrons with the use of campus information technologies services, including but not limited to Wi-Fi, Canvas, and Office 365 Job Duty Maintains equipment and trains library patrons on usage of collaborative technology tools in library spaces Job Duty Designs and prints departmental and campus promotional materials Job Duty Maintains the inventory of the Student Technology Center Job Duty Assists with and monitors the usage of the library’s large format printer (plotter) Job Duty Monitors and assists with student printing Job Duty Participates in departmental, divisional, and college committees and task forces Job Duty Performs other duties as assigned.
