47, DOE Industry: Retail Electric Provider Primary Responsibilities This position shall assume any back-up supervisory responsibilities as necessary or when designated by supervisor or NEC management team and will support immediate supervisor in all areas of accountability.
Position will develop, maintain, and record practices and procedures for department personnel in accordance with expected guidelines and member cooperative requirements related to enrollment, disconnections, and complaints of end use load members.
Will demonstrate competence and confidence by maintaining the understanding and knowledge to advise members regarding electricity usage, offers and applicable programs, billing, and payments processing, and resolves any requests or complaints in a manner satisfactory to the member and NEC Co-op Energy.
Provides support on other office services to ensure members are served and performs other general office duties for the NEC Co-op Energy Division, as required.
Informs NEC Co-op Energy Supervisor informed with daily reports and information regarding progress and developments as required.
Essential Job Functions Manages financial processes for immediate supervisor including daily, month-end and year-end reconciliation processes and reporting, balance billing system, and capital credits (allocations, refunds, unclaimed and escheating), and other subject specific reports at the request of management.
Develops and directs training for new employees and delegates a trainer to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood.
This includes developing and directing training of departmental personnel such as billing, enrollment, and other processes as well as writing user manuals; process and troubleshoots EDI transactions, billing, and other related operational business practices.
Coordinates and records contracted programming changes.
Supports the team as the primary lead representative for member payment assistance escalation requests.
Works with supervisor and management to assure Capital Credits and Power Perks as well as other programs are handled properly and effectively.
Assume any back-up supervisory responsibilities as necessary or when designated by supervisor or NEC management team.
Minimum Requirements Associate degree in a related field plus three to five years of experience in utility billing, customer service call center, or related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Ability to write or prepare routine reports and correspondence, write user manuals and train employees in them, speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Have knowledge or ability to learn to use computerized utility customer information systems within the introductory period.
Must have knowledge of spreadsheet programs and other computer related software and office equipment for the preparation of reports and instruction manuals.
Preferred Requirements Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish.
